ECO Stars: Award winning fleet recognition scheme launches in Mid Devon with Ministerial support.

The Mid Devon District Council ECO Stars Scheme was launched on the
16th March 2011.

Veolia Environmental Services becomes a 5* operator.

Following investment in new CNG powered vehicles and the removal of older vehicles from their fleet, Veolia Environmental Services has become a 5* ECO Stars member.

European Union sets van emission targets

The European Commission has set a new target to limit van emissions to 175 grams per kilometre (g/km) from 2016.

The Institute's Annual Awards for Excellence 2011 promise to be bigger and better than ever.

The CILT(UK)'s Awards for Excellence have raised the bar for excellence by recognising outstanding achievements in logistics and transport and by encouraging organisations and individuals to strive towards the highest possible standards.

The Department for Transport has launched an Evidence Request to freight and passenger transport operators. They are keen to gather views from vehicle operators on how emissions of harmful air pollutants from HGVs, buses and coaches could be best reduced. They are seeking as much data and real evidence as possible, on potential actions to improve air quality cost-effectively.
