Significant interest in the ECO Stars scheme has also been shown by other local authorities both in the UK and Europe.
Subject to final agreement, ECOSTARS Europe will promote more energy efficient and cleaner freight movements by providing recognition, guidance and advice to operators of goods vehicle fleets. As showcased by the scheme in the UK, ECOSTARS Europe will provide a free membership and recognition to its fleet operators and members. The scheme will roll out in Cantabria - Spain, Czech Republic, Parma - Italy, Southeast Sweden, Rotterdam - the Netherlands and the other parts of the UK.
This project is due to be launched in late 2011 and will invite Public and Private Sector stakeholders to take part in forming a reference group and to contribute to the scheme, from their individual perspective.
