Air quality in the UK: policy priorities, best practice and industry engagement

TUESDAY, 17TH MAY 2016

Following the publication of the Government’s plans to improve air quality in cities and proposals to establish five new Clean Air Zones by 2020, this conference will examine the next steps to improve air quality across the UK, and the resourcing and other practical challenges for implementation.

Delegates will assess the findings of the current Parliamentary Select Committee inquiries into diesel emissions and air quality and air quality, as well as the European context following recent approval of a new cap on six key pollutants. Further discussion will bring out the latest thinking and research into the general health implications of air pollution, the action being taken by high-emission industries and the transport sector, as well as the key lessons that can be learnt from areas that have already implemented low emission zones and what further action Local Authorities can take to further reduce air pollution.
