We would like to say a huge thank you to Jack Pease for chairing this year’s very successful Clearer Future Conference. Jack Pease is the editor of Air Quality Bulletin – a newsletter serving the air quality management community. This year’s conference will have a keynote presentation from Dr Ian Mudway. Dr Mudway is a Lecturer in Respiratory Toxicology at the Environmental Research Group, Kings College London. His research focus is on lung response to gaseous and particulate pollutants particularly those generated by road transport. He has published over 60
papers in relation to this subject.

The current focus of his research concentrates on the impact of chronic exposure to these pollutants on children’s respiratory health. Dr Mudway will speak on his latest research in a way that is communicated well to those outside of his profession and also outside of the air quality community.

Speaking at the conference will be Healthy Air Campaign Ambassador Clare Nasir and Gavin Thomson from ClientEarth who coordinates the Healthy Air Campaign – a coalition of NGOs, charities and public bodies campaigning for better air quality and will be contextualising the ClientEarth case as part of the broader activity on air pollution.

The event will look to bring together planners, health professionals, environmental officers, consultants, and those with an interest in clean air and carbon reduction to encourage networking, cross communication and highlight best practice.
