Hosted by Care4Air and Low Emission Strategies (LES) Partnership, the fifth annual A Clearer Future Conference will be held on Thursday 17th September at the Royal Victoria Holiday Inn, Sheffield.
This year's conference will aim to address key issues in improving air quality and will focus on the adoption of LES within local authorities. LES provide local authorities with a package of measures that utilise technology to mitigate the impact of transport developments, particularly in relation to new developments.
LES aim to accelerate the uptake of low emission fuels and technologies in and around the development site, however implementation of LES, rely on effective collaboration between officers from environmental protection, transport planners and planning control teams. The event will look to bring together planners and environmental officers to encourage networking, cross communication and highlight best practice.
Arrival and registration will commence at 9.30am and the main programme of events will start at 10.00am. The conference will open with a keynote speech from Jim Fitzpatrick MP, Minister of State, Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
